Today I accompanied Ryan Parent of Parent Studios to shoot my first wedding of Tara and Jason.
The beginning of any photo shoot, if it be an event or staged can be nerve racking. For myself, this was the case for the first little bit of the wedding, not sure of where I was allowed to go or where I would get the best photos from. But once those first few minutes passed by and I got into the groove of doing the photos I started to get some really good photos that I am very happy with how they turned out. At the beginning it was hard to switch my mind from doing news style photos to ones that would be good for a wedding, but I think that’s what makes me different from other wedding photographer is that I bring a bit of a photojournalism into how I do my photos, getting that odd angle that no one else would think of, or dare to do.
All in all I think it was a very good day and I have learned a lot on how wedding photography works. The day that I shot a wedding by myself will be another big step for me but one that I am looking forward too.
